Overview
The Arc of Madison County, established in 1952, is a non-profit organization providing a wide variety of services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc works to integrate people with disabilities into the community through a wide variety of activities including adult day programs, career center services, paid employment, school to work transition, early intervention services and volunteer opportunities.
The Arc’s one fundraiser is the annual Mike Scherer Memorial Golf Tournament cosponsored this year by General Dynamics. It will be held at The Links Golf Course on Redstone Arsenal. Our golf tournament is highly anticipated and enjoyed by many in Huntsville’s contracting and leadership communities.
The golf benefit is named after Mike Scherer, a long-time supporter of The Arc and past president of The Arc of Madison County Board of Directors. Mr. Scherer was the catalyst that began the tournament. After his passing in 2006, the tournament was renamed in his memory to honor his dedication and support of The Arc.
