Overview
The Arc of Madison County has provided residential services to persons served since 1998. Five homes are located in the Huntsville area, providing a safe, comfortable living environment for the resident adults. Each resident has their own bedroom decorated to reflect his or her personality and interests to make it truly home.
Creating an Environment for Success
The goal of The Arc’s residential services program is to assist each resident in reaching as optimal a level of independence as possible. The residential services program offers training in a home-based setting to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. This training includes personal care, community education, independent living and communication skills, self direction and money management. Independent living skills and training are provided to help each persons served transition from a state residential institution or a family home to independent living in community settings. The residents become active members of the Huntsville community through community activities to various events and service projects to benefit others.
